Colin James

I sat on a low wall
near an unhealthy treeline
of old growth forest
soon to be entrepreneurial.
My bird feeding hat
possessed a deep broad brim
full of seed and suet.
This eccentric behavior
had been documented, distributed
in avoid the odd person flyers.
I looked at my expatriates
through a montage of feathers,
brightly colored ribbons
and other nesting materials.
My temporarily lighter than air

friends sang to me subjectively.

Colin James has published several poetry chapbooks: Dreams Of The Really Annoying from Writers Knights Press and A Thoroughness Not Deprived Of Absurdity
from Pski’s Porch Publishing.
